Mr. Josef Třešňák lived in a family house on the corner of Jančová and Místecká streets for over 40 years. An experienced metalworker has been retired for several years, and therefore he had the opportunity to monitor the construction of Letňany lentils every day. In early June, when it was very hot, he helped builders adhere to their drinking regime. Mr. Třešňák, thank you for supporting the Lentils.

It took a long time, but the rocking lighter is here!
The first lentil is open and the children immediately pounced on it. Behind Ivančická Street near Malkovského Kindergarten, little boys and girls can try out new red swings. The lentil has a safe soft tartan surface and all playing elements are certified according to the valid legislation. There is still no lawn around, but it will be established as soon as the great heat subsides. Lentilka replaced 800 m2 of old concrete playground.

Current schedule of Lentilek
Construction is still in full swing to be completed in the fall. A rocking lantern was opened behind the house in Ivančická Street. Parking in the part of Jančová street is available, work is being done on the new square near Žabka. Kuželova Street and part of Malkovského in the courtyard with the house Místecká 448 – 453 have disappeared. The pyramid is already standing, but a fence will still be built, so it is not yet open to children. Work is also continuing on the sports lentil in Místecká, where the basics can already be seen. Representatives evaluate Lentilky: Oldřich Miffek
Letňany lentils are the largest project since 1990, which the city has been implementing. The previous one was the transformation of the Old Village. It is a pity that during the preparation of Lentilek, probably no one realized that it would be good to build on the experience gained during the construction on Stará Návsa. The project was entrusted on behalf of the district to one person who moves around it from the preparation of the project until its complete completion. At least that was not reasonable. We freed the trees!
Someone is celebrating prematurely, we work until the end of the term. At Tupolevka and Chlebovická, on Sunday morning, we removed the support poles, which were no longer needed. It was done in 3 hours and more than 100 trees will now breathe better. Continue reading “We freed the trees!”

We completely changed the housing estate. 4 years of work are a reality today. New playgrounds, more parking, full of greenery… Lentils are finished in the first phase and the old housing estate is now a modern place to live. The Letňany lentils project could be a beautiful bite in pre-election times: trees are being cut down, the budget will be exceeded, residents are complaining. But such criticism would be unfair. We will probably all agree that the old “Avian” settlement was not exactly a representative locality. I like the method of solution chosen by the Letňany town hall: instead of gradual partial modifications, a radical and relatively quick solution. Will we appreciate lentil greens?
The first phase of the revitalization of the housing estate is in the finish line and I would allow myself a little thought from the position of technical supervision for greenery. Like any change in public space, this one was accompanied by a lot of controversy, struggles for every bit of greenery, confrontation of the opinions of the citizens who live here, with the opinions of architects, builders, gardeners and arborists. Today, the Internet and social networks allow everyone to express their opinion not only on the overall concept of the project, but also on literally every tree, bench or trash can.
